Rolling your way since 2020

The Sikandar Story

We started in 2020, in the kitchen of Ebony, with one simple idea: rolls that don’t hold back. For five years we were a cloud kitchen, sending out loaded, unapologetically generous rolls to a following that kept growing. Now we’ve opened our doors. Our first outlet at UB City puts the roll front and centre, alongside rice bowls, kebabs and fries. Same bold flavours. Finally, a place to sit down and enjoy them.

Ebony is the rooftop Pan-Indian restaurant on the 13th floor of Barton Centre, MG Road, running since 1993. Sikandar comes from the same kitchen, and the Ultimate Butter Chicken Roll is built on one of Ebony’s best-known dishes.

Our story ·

From cloud kitchen to UB City: the Sikandar story

Five years on delivery apps, one new home. How Sikandar Rolls went from a borrowed kitchen to its first sit-down outlet.

Sikandar Rolls started in 2020 as a delivery-only kitchen in Bengaluru, cooking out of the kitchen of Ebony, the rooftop Pan-Indian restaurant on the 13th floor of Barton Centre, MG Road, running since 1993. After five years on Swiggy and Zomato, it opened its first sit-down outlet at UB City in 2026, serving rolls, rice bowls, kebabs and fries.

It started with one idea

The idea was simple: rolls that don’t hold back. Flaky paratha, a generous filling, mint chutney, onions and lime. No shortcuts on the part you actually came for.

Five years as a cloud kitchen

For five years, every Sikandar roll travelled to you in a delivery bag. The following grew order by order. One roll pulled ahead of the rest: the Butter Chicken Roll, char-grilled chicken tikka in a rich makhani gravy, which has been our most ordered roll for years.

A new look, the same Sikandar

In August 2026 the brand got a new identity: the chilli red, kasundi yellow and thecha green you see on our wrappers, our menu and this site. The recipes stayed exactly where they were.

Finally, a place to sit down

Our first outlet is at UB City, on the 2nd floor of the Canberra block. The roll is front and centre, alongside rice bowls, kebabs and fries. We are open every day from 11:30 AM to 11 PM, and you can still order in on Swiggy and Zomato.

Kathi roll, Kolkata roll or frankie? A quick guide

Three names for India’s favourite street wrap, and where a Sikandar roll fits in.

A kathi roll is a Kolkata street food: a filling, traditionally skewer-grilled kebab, wrapped in a flaky paratha. A Kolkata roll usually means the same thing, often with an egg cooked onto the paratha. A frankie is Mumbai’s take, made with a softer wrap. Sikandar rolls follow the Kolkata style.

The kathi roll

The kathi roll is widely credited to Kolkata, where kebabs grilled on skewers were wrapped in paratha so they could be eaten on the go. “Kathi” refers to the stick the kebabs were grilled on. Today the name covers almost any filling rolled in paratha.

The Kolkata egg roll

In Kolkata, a roll often starts with an egg beaten straight onto the paratha on the tawa, so the egg becomes part of the wrap. Our Kolkata Chicken Roll comes with egg, and the Ande Ka Funda Egg Roll puts the egg centre stage. You can add egg to any roll for ₹50.

The frankie

The frankie is usually traced to Mumbai. It tends to use a softer, thinner wrap and a tangier masala, and it is closer to a snack than a meal.

Where Sikandar fits

Every Sikandar roll is built the same way: flaky paratha, a loaded filling, mint chutney, onions and lime. The fillings range from char-grilled tikkas and mutton seekh to paneer and vegetables, with 16 rolls on the menu from ₹325 to ₹425.
